Setting out

Setting out, or figuring out the often-complex measurements of existing stones (and their arrangement in space), is the first stage of masonry conservation work.

Our setting out is carried out by hand on a “drawing floor” in the traditional method, and from these drawings accurate templates can be made for each stone.
