Clay Modelling

We make clay models for casting missing elements when repairing monuments, as well as for casting as decorative plasterwork- such as a ceiling rose or ornamental cornice.

Clay is also used during the development stages of developing carvings. Stone and woodcarving commissions begin with preparatory drawings which are then developed into a three-dimensional clay model. This model is used to establish shapes before carving begins. It’s a way to problem-solve and is used to present the idea to the client in advance of carving.
