Easingwold, Limewood Corpus- Church of St John the Evangelist

Limewood corpus, carved to match an approved plaster model, measuring 1.4meters in length. The body has a gentle sway which accentuates its weight on the cross when hung. The entire surface has a fine tooled finish, adding a level of detail and texture to the limewood. The carving was lightened before hanging, which added contrast between the corpus and the supporting oak cross.
